So, we're all back together now, just took her for a test ride around the town. All's well. Here's what I found: Stator drum had worn it's spline teeth and would rattle on the crank shaft spline, under the compensator gear. Replaced it, and no more rattle. Transient vibration is gone too. Figure it came from the drum. Main shaft seal leaked, changed it out. Changed out the main gear bearing while I was in there. Cheap. Looking like all's well, I'll find out tomorrow when I ride her into work!! Changed out the shifter shaft seal as well, it looked damp.
