Today
Dancer is getting spayed....can pick her up tomorrow. Hopefully it'll calm her down a bit, lately she's been um, er....hormonal.

Hope you have better luck with her than we did Rascal. The "dirty deed" didn't slow him down one bit.
I'm still thinking Riddlin...

That even got a chuckle out of the wife.....

Damn-it
Well, Dancer was doing well until Monday evening. Without too much detail, her GI tract and intestines are a mess. Apparently from the stress of surgery. Fever, the trots, blood in stool, you name it. They ran tests, gave meds, prescription diet and sent her home. This follow up cost more than the spay. |

I do hope that she'll be getting better tomorrow, or certainly within a day or two, and for the both of you, not require more trips to the vet ! Sending her a lil prayer from here brother !!

The things we do for pets....
Kramer was neutered very, very early on. The only (knock wood) problem we've had was one time he swallowed a rawhide chew toy.... He crapped every 2 hours, on the hour, for 2 weeks...that was enjoyable! Hang tough Warren...you did the right thing. I know how much you love her.... |

I know I did the right thing in spaying her. I'm actually required to by contract with the breeder. 5500.00 in damages if I don't. Here is some info for folks to consider when choosing the time to spay/neuter. http://www.caninesports.com/SpayNeuter.html http://www.naiaonline.org/pdfs/LongT...uterInDogs.pdf The mantra of spay/neuter early may be flawed. I understand it's need for shelters and rescue operations, but for me the decision was easy to wait until maturity. There appears to be a lot of PC propaganda attached to this issue that may not be the best thing for our pets. ms T.....that's my Dog. And thank you for the prayers. Warren...
Sorry to hear about Dancer, man... sending a get well prayer from here. Keep us posted. I waited a year and a half to get Rup clipped. My vet told me that it is best to let all the muscles develop prior to neutering. Since growth is guided by hormones, she felt that they need all of them to develop completely. She said the muscles remain spongy if they get fixed too early. That being said, I was happy when it finally came time to get the job done... Rup had become quite the wanderer and was a general handful around here. He has become quite the gentlemen since. |
