"Fast Hog to Breadhouse" -- Another Jesus Story
I won't pretend to take Racindude's place in this thread, but this modern day telling of the story of Jesus' birth is worth a read!
Not that there's anything wrong with the old version, but if Jesus came today, this is a compelling snapshot of how the events might translate to the modern day. Now, I didn't write this, so I'm not going to edit it either -- but there are probably a couple of lines that might tempt some of you to run off down a political rabbit trail. I'd invite you to choose not to do that here (maybe over in R&P if you have to...). Instead, maybe just listen to the music without getting hung up on all the words... It's easy to lose sight of, or miss altogether, just exactly which rung of the social ladder Mary and Joseph stood on in their day. This is a worthy reminder... |

Thanks, Don.
It gives you pause, doesn't it?
