New Front Brake Time, Floating Rotor Question...
Can I do any better than these for the $$$?
http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US Using Lyndall Z+ pads again, so that part ain't up for debate... Rotors have been warped a bit for awhile, so it's time to replace them this go-round.

I've heard Harley floaters are the most cost effective. If ya wanna find out for yerself heres's some more to try

Call me stupid, but what exactly are "floating rotors" and what benefit do they have over whatever's on my bike now?

A floating rotor has a very limited amount of movement available between the inner and outer portions of the assembly. Supposed to center better and have less drag, and some other stuff somebody smarter will post about...

I have the ones from Harley and they stopped the squealing from the front brakes. I have read that they aren't true floating rotors and that others are better, but it did what I wanted. I need to get one for the rear now. Somebody had some for sale that were used for a demo...fix-my-hog I think. I'll look.

Dave, how about the stock rotor used on the 08 with Brembos?
It's a semi-floater, just wonder what the asking price is.

Floating rotors are sweet. No vib or squeaks. You may find some on ebay for a good price. I have floating rotors and sometimes get on the front breaks real hard. They work very well Dave. Good luck on your search.
