After the replacement of the compensator sprocket back in August the noise she was making lessened, but never entirely went away. The last 1000 miles or so the noise has become increasingly worse.

I rode down to the valley to San Benito HD on the recommendation of a friend (because I have no confidence in Corpus Christi HD.) His mechanic pulled the primary cover off and the compensator looks good. . .no problems there. He is certain the noise is coming from the rear cylinder. He recommended I not ride her out of there. He's tearing her down as we speak. . .

The noise is like putting 4-5 pennies in an empty beer can and shaking it. I'm expecting to hear from him today. . .

The front piston doesn't have the scoring the rear one does but the noise is coming from the bottom end...fck

Did they measure the crank run out before they started tearing it down?

Were you getting any extra vibrations?

I don't know about the crank run out. . .and no, no extra vibrations. At least not this time. When Corpus took the compensator out then put her back together and sent me home to wait for parts way back in August, she was vibrating like hell which is why I parked her for a month until the parts came in. . .

Now I'm thinking CCHD misdiagnosed the problem to start with, or at least didn't do a complete diagnoses. . .
