I realize that your daughter and I are at opposite ends of the dating game as I didn't start dating until I was 47 but there are a few things that may be the same. The first thing is if you are sitting at home every night it's pretty near impossible to meet folks so get out and get involved in your community. It helps to have a girlfriend or two to go with you but it's doable on your own. Is she in collage? If so there are plenty of events to attend. If not, consider taking a few courses. Church young adult groups can be fun. Take dance lessons. Go on a pub crawl. Yes nice guys go to bars too. Volunteer work comes to mind. Jog or ride a bicycle or walk or join a gym, there are lots of nice guys that do this kind of stuff! I guess what I'm saying is explore your world, find your passion and somewhere along the way someone who shares your interests will come along.

Seriously Patty, church groups etc. like Tonya suggest are a start.

I was usually on the prowl @ the super market/mall/laundramat. Pretty much, where ever I, I was "lookin"

She has to be out in places where the fella's will notice her.

All I'll add is, make sure (@ first) they have a job, car and their own apartment.

Like the song says, you can't hurry love.

I grew up with a girl and she always dated losers. I never understood that. I always thought she attracted losers, but then later in life (she was still dating losers) I realized she just tolerated their loserness. As has been said, make sure she sets her standards very high, and does not compromise, no matter what.
