J&M Headsets...

Are they really better than the stock HD ones? I sometimes have a hard time hearing the CB and can't seem to get the music loud enough. I'm wondering if it's the helmet or the headset. Does anyone have any experience with them?

I can't compare to the HD ones because I went straight to J&M's...

The music is plenty loud, but sometimes I wish they had more bass response to them.

Haven't used the CB at all.

Cant comment on the J&M's ... didn't believe there was any way just another brand or set of headphone style speakers could deliver very much better sound. That type of speaker was meant to work directly next to your ear not stuck to your helmet 1/4" to 1/2" away from your ear.

Earbud speakers Great Sound Great Bass

Just sayin'

Wow! Thanks Les. I don't know how I missed that. I just might give that a try.

It's a little work, and it takes you an extra 30 seconds to put your earbuds in before your helmet, then plug that into stereo jack you soldered on. small price to pay IMO. Sounds incredible and I never turn my stereo up past 4 little lines on the radio screen... hurts your ears it gets so loud. The best set of earbuds I have found to use so far are from radio shack... fit my ear better than the KOSS ones, plus they have a small slider volume control on the cord. You can set that slider about 1/2 way up. If you use regular earbuds without that volume then when you have the HD radio turned way down you hear some ignition whine through the earbuds... with the cord volume set 1/2 way up it eliminates this. Talked to a pro at a stereo install place, they have a piece you could install in the power line to the radio thats supposed to eliminate the ignition whine BUT he said it might work might not, it may be more related to a bad stereo ground or another ground feeding back into it... he got real technical using words like wave sine, grounding plane... my eyes glazed over and I decided to just stick with the Radio Shack earbuds since they eliminated it.
