Stage 1 download

I put the new AC set up on the Fatbob yesterday and I'm taking it in to
San Jose HD for the download. They said it costs 149.95. Just wondered if this sounds right to everyone? It has to be done now.

Sounds right.
I don't know if it still works like it did in the 88" days, but back then you got a lot better running bike by putting a 95" Stage I download in an 88" Stage I bike.
You might ask them if the same holds true with the 103" downloads in the 96" bikes.

Not sure about these newer models, but for that kind of money you can buy an adjustable DFO and add fuel. Plus, it' useful for future upgrades.

A 103" map is where I started with mine. Since then it has been "tuned" - using that term loosely. Some VE numbers went down, some went up.

With older version(s) of the SERT you could change the engine displacement under the ECM Tuning Constants table. That's simply what the dealer did when I had slip-ons installed (changed the displacement to 100 vs. 96.7). When I put on new head pipes, I loaded a 103 map.

With the latest & greatest version, doesn't look like you can change the displacement...

EDIT: You can change the displacement.

Geno, PM SLOWHOUND and ask him about the DFO. He sells them and they're very easy to use and install. They have three simple circuits that are adjustable with a screwdriver. You tune it kinda like a carb.

Wish I'd gone that route early on with my RK.

Now is NOT the time to buy a SERT.
The MoCo's newest is something new from the MoCo, so it needs a year and a half to season, and they still won't know how to use it.
The company that made the SERT for the MoCo no longer does, and will be releasing it under their own name soon, and with all the crap that you were locked out of at H-D's request opened up.
It'll be a much better product.
I'd do the download for now.
