2009 EG new frame bagger seats

I seem to recall something about the seats on the new bagger frame being too tall for those with short inseams and the dealer would replace the seat for those of short inseams with some other factory seat that would get them closer to the ground and the foot controls.

Well this 2011 EG has a seat that has me sitting my sac on the tank and my feet on the ground under the engine guards. I tried to ask the parts guy at the dealer about the seat thing, he just kept going on that they changed the frame in '09 not the seat.

I think it has a short seat and am looking at a new seat already, would like a Corbin but how to try one first, Mustang says they now make a seat for taller people for the new bagger frame that sets tall legged people back 1 3/4". Don't see anything like that listed at Corbin.

I would like to try a Corbin and avoid swamp ass. But may be forced to get my butt back on a Mustang...

If you come down to the Corbin factory in Hollister they will fit your seat for you the same day. They do Saturdays from 8-12, if you want to get one let me know I'll ride down there with you. Maybe get one done for myself.

The dealer I bought my 09 from offered to change the seat to the tall boy at no charge.

Tom, I skimmed...does your seat have "low" stamped in it?

that is the lower seat, and they started using in early 10, I have a practically brand new seat from y2kking from an 09 that is the "higher" seat if that is what you are looking for its yours.....

the seat is a bit taller and also spreads your legs out wider than the low seat....

I'll have to pull it off and look. I just kept thinking on my drive home that everyone in service and parts kept using the tried joke of a line, "they all do thet" or "thats just the way it is".

Then there was this gem, they changed the frame in '09 not the seat...

Maybe if they had offered to help me out with seat fitment and look at the thing to see what I was ranting about, I may have dropped some bones there on a better fitting seat.

It's like when you ask questions their eyes glaze over and they turn into "They all do that!" zombies.

Which of course explains why the pre-09 seats don't fit the post-08 bikes. I would probably have asked them to look up a TallBoy seat for an 08 just to waste their time and watch to see if the light came on.

Seat came off, I already lost that strap thingy, am I gonna fall off now and die?

Yep it says low on the pan of the seat.

I am planning on writing a letter and everyone in parts and service is getting tossed under the clown car for lack of knowledge / helpfulness / lost parts sale / and just general dumb ass'd-ness.. (Hey lookie a new internet word...)
