I have a set of HD gear that has major limitations--hence they do not seem to make it anymore. The velcro leg closures do not stay closed--I used electrical tape to solve that issue coming home from CO last year. The flap on the front of the jacket only has velcro in a few spots, so water eventually works its way in. I had to put on a garbage big under it to fix that. I ended up soaked for the most part.
Frog Togs seem fragile to me, although I know a lot of people like them. I have determined Tourmaster's Sentinel line will be my upgrade set. This place has the best prices I have found, but you might do better--free shipping if you go over $99. I have not seen the HD Goretex, but any Goretex product works well if it's assembled right. I bet you even have issued Goretex--probably in multiple patterns.

I have desert and woodland, but rarely wear anything other than the jacket. Never have worn them on the bike, but I see people doing it all the time. They seem bulky and impractical for that application. Supposedly, the new APECS stuff is better, but I won't be shellin' out the $200+ to find out.
