Trans fitment
Anyone happen to know if an 07 bagger 6-speed will bolt into an 06? I know there are subtle difference, but I think the overall dimensions and mounting holes are identical.

I believe the SE 6 speed gear set I put in my 05 would only fit up to 06. At least that's how it was advertised when I bought it on e-bay from a HD dealer out west.

There's a whole trans on EBay. I was just curious if it'd bolt up with minimal use of a sawzall and welder.

I seem to recall when a friend was looking at a 6 speed we had the same issue. 07 later won't fit on the 06 prior. He almost bought it before we realized the problem. This was a gear set, not the whole tranny.

Hmmm, maybe. HD's website lists the SE 6-speed gearset as applicable to all 01 & up baggers.

Copy; thanks. $500 for a new 6-speed was just too much to hope for.... What are the external differences that prevent the swap?
