well I fooked something up.
I got my bike all put back together and wired in the new RWD Cat eye taillight with the badlands illuminator and everything seemed copasetic. Brake lights, turn signals and hazards all working like they should.
So i take it down the road for a quick run to make sure that all is good and when I hit about 40mph the battery light and engine light popped on. Shut the bike down and flip it back on. Warning lights are off. soon as I hit 40 they pop back on again. So I unhook the wiring harness to the rear fender and removed all the other accessories attached to the battery and it still does the same thing? Not sure what the deal is? during this revamp I had also removed the tank and replaced it with a new one using all the same parts from the original, but I can't see how that could have anything to do with it. Anybody have any ideas? I've been messing with it for a couple days and I'm stumped.

The new tank probably had the 40 MPH speed limiter installed in it
