Return to Paradise

This one's about 10 years old. It stars Vince Vaughn, Joaquin Phoenix, and Anne Heche.

Three guys meet in Malaysia and party while on vacation. Two of them return to New York, not realizing that the third one, left behind, has been arrested of possession with intent to sell. The sentence is hanging. His defense is that it wasn't all his.

The other two are faced with returning to share prison sentences of let him hang as the lone offender, with only a few days before the execution.

Good story and well acted.

I saw that movie recently and I thought the same. I suppose that would be one way to see who your real friends are and what they are willing to do to save your life.

Wild ending. Never saw it coming. Gotta be careful when you're a college kid skipping around the world. Some places aren't real concerned about victim's rights or your poor childhood.

I agree - very good movie. Makes you want to hang the reporter in the film.
