A Shout Out to the Latest Crop of Engineers..

As we enter into round 2 of trying to fix a 4.8 million dollar engineering boondoggle, the electrical engineers have descended on mass to the site.
Us lowly knuckle dragging construction Neanderthal types know what to do to fix the issues, but these snot nosed engineering kids think they know a better way at 10 times the install cost and it still won't work......

Feels good to rant, I've only got 28yrs experience what the hell do I know.... Like I just finished telling one of the pimple faced zekes : You Can Kiss My Anal Beard!!! It took him a bit, but then he looked a little offended

I sympathize; I deal with those tender little egos daily.

Back in my military years, I used to enjoy watching the learning experiences of young 2nd LT's when they crossed a curmudgeonly 1st SGT or CSM

Just because the fan or heater is plugged into the wall outlet doesn't mean it'll work if there's no power on the backside of the outlet . . .

Or...
I get IT guys telling me that the router is showing up OK, don't know why they can't log onto the net, I mention maybe the ISP is down?, Oh No!, See right here the router shows a really strong signal...

Kind of like construction engineers insisting we tell traffic about available optional routes around their project. Never mind that they didn't bother to sign these alternate routes so travelers would know where to go once they got off the highway. I guess from the exit ramp it was the travelers responsibility to find their way through an unknown city...

I feel your pain.

The oilpatch is full up of 22 or 23 year old experts with civil engineering degrees..

I was lucky enuff to work with that "1" back in my USSteel days...the other "99ers" were shipped off to some other dept.

I lost track of him for 30 years...mainly because I was spelling his name wrong...but I finally met him again a couple years ago...
