Hey Boxer DJ!! Or Any Other Duramax Pros....
So going shopping for a 5th wheel hauler. My mechanic who pushes some hi po diesels thru his shop says if I insist on staying with the General, that a pre-stringent emissions early 2007 or 2006 is the way to go
Do you agree with this statement? I can't afford both new, and I do like the tin from that era... Thanks for any and all input on this drivetrain and of course I will be messing with it a bit Dirk |

The older DuraMax's are great. Finding a low mileage one at a fair price is another story.

That's why I bought the late year 06.
Oh, and I didn't want to shell out 50 large for a barebones new one.

Now if you could find someone who had been hauling and was ready to give it up........ Remember that low mileage on a diesel is different that on a gas engine.

I guess it depends on the size of the 5th wheel your getting, but ive always liked the 60 series crew cabs, or the 30 series with the narrow dual wheel axle, that are used for tow/dump trucks...they make some nice aluminum beds for those...
