A) Exhaust shields. As the engine RPM hits a certain harmonic, it can cause a vibration that will make all sorts of noise. Check them. Check the entire exhaust system. Look for broken mounts, loose mufflers, loose baffles in the mufflers.... just don't look, touch, poke and hit stuff with your hand.
Took me 3 months to find the same noise on my Heritage, LaFawnda.

Mine was the heat shield right next to the right (brakeside) at the seam near the floorboard. It sounded like it was coming from the front of the engine while I was riding...

I fixed it by simply bending it slightly outward and away from the bike, like 1/8".

similar issue here, sounded like a heat shield, turned out the nut on the front 02 sensor wasn't secure.

Thanks for the suggestions folks. My son and I are going to go over the entire bike together this weekend and check and torque everything. If that doesn't stop it I have printed out all the suggestions and will take them and the bike and my sidearm to the dealer and subtly hint that it would be a good idea to fix the noise. This is a very good dealer and they have always treated me right and done a great job on my bike. I am not angry with them, although I think the dyno tune may have caused it. All I want is my bike noise free. It was soooooooooooo quiet before.

I'd bet they either left the primary tensioner too loose or the comp sprocket came loose again. If the dealer mech didn't disassemble the entire thing including removing the clutch basket in order to get to the threads on the crankshaft end and then clean them thoroughly AND prime them again before putting on the locktite and torquing it'll come loose again and a dyno is the place it'll happen.
