I hate to hear about anyone going down, especially pholks I like.

I've got in-laws in that part of the country, couple towns over. If he needs anything let me know, and I'll see what I can do.

OK. Surgery Monday. That means corrective and it's non-emergent. That's good. Nothing life threatening.

Now that we got that out of the way, Who's got his bike? Is it secure? Can one of us that's close to there get it?

Thanks for the well wishes everyone, I very much appreciate the thoughts and prayers. They mean the world to me and will definitely keep me going as I recover from this.

The Dr. is telling me it is a clean break and all they will have to do is insert a rod in there to get it to heal up nice and straight. That is currently scheduled for Monday AM.

As far as everything else goes, I am all set. Sharon drove the truck over this afternoon and the bike was loaded up in the back along with the rest of my gear and a few loose parts.

Now for what happened.

I came into a corner and noticed there was quite a bit of loose gravel from an access entry into a pasture and target fixated on it. The interesting part was when I went across the entry and became airborne for a bit when I ran off the edge of the entry and on into the ditch. The right side of my bike was against the slope of the ditch and I think that is where I managed to get the break at. I am pretty sure I went over the bars, this was happening kind of fast, and end up about 20 yards or so in front of the bike. It was then I noticed that my leg wasn't right.

I pulled myself over to the side of the ditch closer to the road so I could flag down a guy who I was riding with but had stopped to adjust some of his gear.

Of course, since I was in the middle of nowhere Arkansas, there was no cell coverage, but it wasn't more than 3-5 minutes before someone in a car stopped who lived just down the road. He went home and placed a 911 call and it wasn't too long before some of the first response teams started showing. I tell you, when you are laying in a ditch with a busted leg, they are a very welcome sight indeed!

It ended up with me getting a helicopter ride into Washingtion Regional in Fayetteville.

I feel extremely fortunate right now. If it weren't for the broken leg, you wouldn't be able to tell that I had been bouncing around in a ditch. There isn't a mark on me anywhere. No even where the break is at.

Thanks again everyone for the thoughts and prayes, I will provide updates as this unfolds.
