Was speaking to my local enabler, and while I await the overhaul at my pistol range - mebbe some shopping to be done!
Where would you lay down your cash on the choice of these 4 and why? I have zero Remington in my safes and not sure I want to start now but it feels nice and has a nice little RO Commander .....  Colt has rather large monetary issues maybe the Smith to match the 29??Looking for real tech advice between them and stuff... Dirk Last edited by DAK47; 04-06-2017 at 09:00 AM.

Well, you're on the right track caliber wise. Just find a used Colt, I think there's a few around. Or experiment, people bad mouth my locally made off brands but you know, so far no runs, no drips, no errors.

I second the Colt in that lineup. I would definitely add a commander-style hammer and a beavertail grip safety if you don't want to get bit. Needs better sights too.
Steel frame and slide are good. Everything else can be added when the foundation is good.

The sights in that photo don't look like combat sights to me. The photo shows a thin rear blade sight like you might see on a WW II gun. I don't like those very much.
