I have two bikes that I have to ride. Plus at $4.00 a gallon, I try to make it last.

I ride the bike all I can. At 37mpg it beats the car even in the city. But the premium required can sting a bit. But it's still just a $15 fill up.

Last week I started on building a frame that'll hold a 5 gallon fuel tank inside the sidecar. I still need to run fuel lines. Hopefully I can get it all welded up tomorrow or tuesday.

Harley "New Year" is usually around September 9th.That is when MOST dealers will be having an "open house" to use that as a way to get you to come by and Usuarp more of your money. It also happens to be when the next model years bikes show up. Did I mention Penthouse Pets?

Are you going to use an electric pump to pump into the existing tank or some kind of fitting into the fuel line? Going to be a manual switch over?

I'd consider some kind of small sign on the side car, saying there is fuel in there. In case you were in an accident, no one would know there is gas in there.

I haven't made too much progress on this so far. I do have a frame made already, and bolted it in. Also put in a shut off valve from the tank. Filled in up with water to make sure it doesn't leak before it went in.

Now all I have to do is pick up a small fuel pump, and wire it in to a switch. I'm just going to keep about 5 feet of fuel line rolled up inside the sidecar, so that I can use the extra tank to fill up either my bike. Or if somebody else runs out, I could fill them up too.
