Time for new cables?

I just put new bars on and noticed that the sheath on my throttle cable is split. Is this going to quickly become a problem or do I have a little time to hide...errr...rebuild my bike money?

If it's just the outer sheath, wrap it with tape and ya should be OK for a little while.







or just rub some dirt on it.

What kind of bars did you install?

I happen to have a complete set of Magnum Chromite cables off of my bike....If you want, I can check all the lengths to see if they'll work for you.

That happened to mine earlier this summer. I wrapped it in scotch tape and will change
them in a couple of years.

are you efi or carb? I still have the original cables from my 2000 rk sitting in the garage, dirty but still good.

it will become a problem if your caught in the rain alot, you will probably start getting dirt and rust in the coils that wrap the wire, lube the crap out of it.

Wild 1 Chubby Road King ll. Fit me like a glove. I was tired of being cramped up, so I put on new bars, floorboard extensions and turned my highway pegs around. MUCH better.
