Cool. Thanks for the dimensions. I'm curious about how yours works out. I'm dealing with smaller pipes (2.5" straight drag pipes essentially) but the design ideas should carry over.

I had a long and pleasant conversation with Morgan at Bristol Core today regarding the baffle wrap. Given the size constraints, he's concerned that the pillow wrap he has won't work. If the wrapping material is compressed too much, it doesn't quiet the exhaust. He's going to play around with various materials today, and hopefully have a solution by tomorrow morning.

Russ,measure the distance from the old baffle bolt to the end of the muffler housing and I will see if I could make a full lenth baffle for you to try. BTW, I have messed with these baffles a bunch. All fat cats/borezillas use the same muffler body so you can mix and match baffles to try try to find the perfect sound.
You could buy suppertrapp mufflers with the correct id to slip onto the fat cat. They are available in 12,17,and 22" lenths.You will need to fab a mount for the rear of the muffler though. I am looking to experiment on my Borezilla to quiet my bike down too. Oh yea, They are not cheep.

Dave, the muffler's still at the coater's, but I believe it's about 4" from the bolt hole on the underside of the muffler to the bottom of the slash cut at the back. The muffler should be done tomorrow, so I'll get you better dimensions.

I've thought about the Supertrapp idea....Good to know they make different length mufflers, but I didn't think the I.D. matched up. All I'd need to do for that would be to weld a couple of nuts on the back for the screws......Hmmmmmm.

The fat cat muffler body for your exhaust is 25.5" long from tip to tip. The id of the inlet is 2.5" .
Supertrapp makes a muffler that is 22" long with a bracket welded on it so you can fab an adapter. The part # is 432-2522 cost is 279.00.

Should be here Tuesday. Hopefully I can pick up the pipe tomorrow and get it heat cycled this weekend. Oughta sound great without the baffle.

Mike, I'll just use regular masking tape to hold the thing steady while I wrap it. It'll burn off all quick-like.
