Finally time to do it,
Getting up there in years and am feeling the results of a lifetime of denial.
Growing up we are always invincible. Now it is time to pay the piper. I'm talking about hearing loss. In the past several years I have noticed a pronounced loss of high pitched sounds. Now normal conversation has me asking people to repeat what they said. A while back I bought a set of Eargos. The ones that look like a fishing lure. They work fine to amplify sound, but they amplify ALL sound. So..tomorrow I will make an appointment with the Miracle Ear people. Regretfully, the time has come.

Welcome to the club. You’ll be amazed at what you’ve been missing.
Those things are expensive, but worth every penny. I don’t have experience with Miracle Ear, but there are alternatives if they go all high pressure sales thing on you Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

I have Miracle Ear. On "special" they cost me $2000. They can be programmed like my old stereo equalizer, 10 different frequencies. I can get free checkups, auditory evaluations, several times a year for life. Batteries free for the first 3 years but if you ask nicely they may slip you a box.
I don't wear them all the time but I need them for watching TV. If I don't wear them I hear too much mumbling. If I am not wearing them my wife gets mad because I miss out on her constructive criticism.

I was embarrassed as hell when I got mine. Why in the hell does a 40 year old need hearing aids already? Because I was an idiot when I was younger.
Anyway, now I love them. My kids still make fun of me, but they're little @ssholes anyway. (They take after their mother.) Got mine from Costco. They were substantially cheaper then Miracle ear. They work great, and I never knew what I was missing out on. You won't regret spending the money.

Costco
Been there, done that. I got mine from Costco as well, after going through a specialist and their recommendation to spend over 6K on a set with bluetooth for my phone. A friend suggested Costco and couldn't be happier with the service or price for better hearing and an app with a bluetooth microphone that I wear for phone conversations. The technology just keeps getting better...
