It's possible that the court will render a very narrow, DC specific decision. DC is not a State, but federal property, so a narrow decision could only affect DC and leave the States unaffected.

I think it's scary. There is no telling what the Supreme Court will do. If they make a broad decision on the 2nd Amendment, I can only hope that they see it as an individual right.
If not, I think the government will move quickly against gun owners, manufacturers and anybody else. Not sure how far they'd get, but none of it would be good.
And, as GrayRider said, they could just rule on the district itself and pass on the larger Constitutional issue.
