With our litigious society, I wonder if they even still have shop class? It was a dangerous place to be. Seems like a good place for lawyers to hang out.

I was looking into them a few years back and was told to buy one with the best fence you can afford. At the time, one very good fence was by Biesemeyer, IIRC. Not much help other than that..

Found this...<clicky>

Mike, I looked into these saws pretty extensively last year, reading all the reviews, looking at the machines in person, comparing lots of pros/cons.
The saw that 'won' all the reviews was this one:dw744
even the discussion among the pros who actually use these on job sites all seemed to be really happy with this one. They all really liked the fence adjustments.

As it turned out, I haven't purchased yet as the workshop hasn't happened, but I have decided on this one. Its actually sturdier than it looks.

Ya Dewaults are good. I got 12v cordless and miter saw. Neither used professioanly, but used when called apon.

2 years ago I bought Busch jig saw, got very good reviews, and was made in USA. Dewault in Mexico. Last 2 years has been turning point for American power tools. Some Milwaukees I think are still made in US, others not.

I like my Milwaukee Magnum 1/2 drill, alot of contractor use em.

$529 is gettting kinda pricey for my needs. I like to looks of there portable, if a guy had the money, one of each would be the ticket. I am leaning towards something with a stand though.

No you can't. You guys need to press that button. It will seriously make you reconsider what you are looking for in a table saw. I will assure you, you will have to have that saw after you see it.

No blood, I promise. It's a hot dog on a board.

They run an electrical pulse through the blade. If any organic material disrupts that current, it drops the blade and it digs into a block of soft aluminum to stop it instantly. The worst damage I have seen to the hot dog in the demonstration was a little nick that you might need a band-aid to fix. Much better that packing the mangled remains of your finger in ice and heading to the ER.
