Shorts, flip-flops and print shirt are standard riding costume for me in the Texas summer for bike nights and short jaunts around town. Too hot for anything else

Every time I'm down in Daytona visiting my father, I cringe at how many guys I see on Harleys wearing shorts and flip-flops. I know it gets hot and humid down there, but I just can't see not having boots and jeans on. No disrespect to anyone who wears that, but it's just not for me.

I agree with you. Boots and jeans all the time. I admit to sleevless shirts and a do-rag 'though.

d190 has failed to amuse us
I am an AGATT person....I wear armored mesh in 110*F temps...as you see from the pic of all the help I am getting, I do dress AGATT and the boots are HD made by Chippawa....they are velcro side flap closure with 2 adjuster straps...very comfortable and kept my feet dry even in long rides in heavy rain (ES of 2006 comes to mind)...HD stopped carrying them and Chip raised the prices to around $250...so resole or find something else...

I daily commute, so I wear lace up RG Waterproofs, I can get on sale at Big 5 for $30 for commute and work books...this lace up pair are WATERPROOF...proved it digging out and replacing network cable conduit over Christmas break, I was in ankle deep mud all day with more rain coming down...

I've been burned really bad in the past. There will be no shorts with either Flip-Flops and or Crocs for me.

I got a pair of HD lace up with zippers on sale with gift certificates I had. I really like'em. I have wide feet so it can be tough finding boots that fit. Rain gaiters here, too.

Chippewa Es--trust me. I wear a D or E width depending on the boot. The Chippewas Es I had fit fine at first, but broke in to feel like galoshes.
