motel/hotel bike security

park it close to the door, lock the forks, turn on the alarm, security cable, disc brake lock...

What tips do you doofs have for securing your bike in the motel parking lot?

Why am I thinking "Bring it in the room" is going to be the number one answer...

I usually park it right outside my room. Aside from a brake lock and the fork and ignition locks, I don't do much else. WHen I was in England, we used to chain them together.......

depending on what fine establishment i'm at it's either park it in the room, right outside of the room or on the sidewalk next to the front door, and let the night manager keep an eye on it ( a $20 bill usually helps with that).

Park outside the door... fork lock... alarm... disk lock... string attached to bike and big toe...

I brought the cable lock last time and it was kind of worthless in that it wasn't long enough to go around anything... or there was nothing to attach to....

Make sure you have the plate and vin number somewhere handy and the phone number for your insurance agent.

If you can try and cable lock it to something.

Activate the security system and keep my insurance up to date.

While in Colorado, I am going to park next to Mike's and put a sign on my bike detailing all of the new stuff that has been done to his bike and how purty it is, then rub some dirt on mine so his really shines.

I chained mine to the motel's electrical entrance while I was in Florida. I figured if I left the TV on in the room and it went black, I knew where the problem was.
