I understand what you are saying about the dykes now... maybe better leverage that way... maybe some vise dykes...

I have Klein dykes that have angled head, good for pulling out staples and nails.

On my FXDWG, I used channel-locks and got a bite of the saddle with one jaw and the other jaw pushed against the small end of the pin.

can you use a small c-clamp to press it out...use a socket on the back side that the pin will fit into...

the pin is pressed in there. i used an air hammer with a chisel bit to lift the head a smidge and it popped right out.
