Boots - discuss

Pull on, tie, or zip up, cowboy? Steel toe or not? Brands? Due to the success of my "gloves" thread, let's try this and see what we get. I ordered some brown pull ons from Leather-up. Had been considering some Doc Martins, but price was a concern too.

I had HD boots that zipped up on the inside. They leaked. . .horribly. I now wear Geroge Strait Justin flex soled cowboy boots. I bought them at the Justin outlet store in Fort Worth and I absolutely love them! The vent on my pipes came right across my right calf and I had a perpetual scorch mark on my leg. The boots are tall enough to prevent that.

bought HD...made by wolverine.... they are ok.... have a pair of chippawas..... love em.
laces up and just above ankle, will resole them. they will be my next pair of black i buy.

I have a pair of HD boots w/ side zipper and lace up front that are very comfortable, but in the wet, they leak like crazy around the tongue. My other boots are a pair of Chippewa (sp?) with a back zipper. Great boots, but they have been slow to get broke in to my foot (been wearing them here and there for a year now). The right boot is tighter than the left and ends up causing me great pain by the end of the day. I was told to get them wet and walk them dry to cure that, I just haven't yet.

I'm in favor of boots but have been known to wear flip flops when riding.

Those are the ones I wear! And yes, I usually buy men's boots.

I can't wear boots .....yet.

Can't pull 'em on, and damn sure wouldn't
be able to get them off. Ankle still hurts.

I wear HD side zip boots. I like them best so far. They are the most comfortable of the ones I've tried. Haven't worn them in the rain yet though. Maybe next week.

HD engineer's boots for warm weather. Not the prettiest boots, but they're comfy and work well. When they die, I'll probably replace them with a pair of Double-H.

Danner Ft.Lewis boots (200 gram Thinsulate) for cold weather. I've had these boots for 15 years, they're hands-down the best things I've ever put on my feet.

Doc Martens 10-holes for when I'm riding to work (they're my work boots). A little slick on wet pavement, but pretty comfortable.

Prefer pull-on, roper-style cowboy/work boot. Right now wearing generic, made-in-USA brand from Redwing. Black, of course.

However... when I'm itching for a little street action, I wear my old steel-toe Navy boondockers & white sox, (with mushroom-head 1/2 helmet) and go trolling for the unsuspecting.
