So there we were at the Brewster Street Icehouse on Sunday evening having a sandwich and a drink.

We're about 300 miles from home and Tailgunner and I looked at each other and said almost simultaneously, "I wish I had remembered to bring Leigh's number."

Leigh is a nurse who used to live across the street from us and moved to Corpus Christi to teach at the university there.

Realizing that numbers are printed in a book in most cities, Tailgunner got up and went to the bar to ask for a phone book. As she was talking to the bartender, a voice comes out of the crowd, "Patty. Is that you?"

What are the odds?

If you were to ask Little Bear, he would tell you that it happens all the time to me.

That's one of the things that keeps me on the straight and narrow. I can't go anywhere.
