Attention

I'm thinkin about putting together a 300 tired Hardtail framed Shovel powered bike...it will have a springer front end...21" w/120 front tire.....jockey shift...probably apes...solo seat with those cool little shocks as springs....lotsa Fab Kevin real steel parts on it...stuff like that...thinkin no front brake and just using a Brakester rear pulley brake set-up.....just thinkin right now.

did make my first part purchase tho..... Ultima 6 speed right side drive tranny

I've started to look into project bikes before, but balked before buying parts because I really didn't have a clear vision of what the heck I wanted. Do/did you make sketches / mockups of what you would like the finished bike to look like? That would be the tough part for me because I'm sure as hell not an artist.

I'm no artist......its really a culmination of parts and styles I've seen over the years....I love the look of the Shovel motor (since I have 2 complete Shovels the motor is readily available)....always wanted a springer front end....one of my managers just completed a fat tire pro street style bike so there's the fat tire idea....I know what I want it to look like in my mind....the challenge for me is colors......partial to black and chrome....just don't know if I want matte....satin...flat...or gloss finish.

I'm gonna take my time so I'll come up with something soon or later......I really like the flat black with red or orange rims and hubs with chrome spokes but have always been afraid to pull that trigger.

It'll be great (and inspiring) to see pics / hear ideas along the way. The wheels are kick ass, btw!

And just smart if you plan on riding the bike. The decreased stopping distance of no front brake, is not worth it. No matter how cool the bike looks. Unless it's sitting in your living room. Only takes once to destroy all your work

I have a friend that converted his Panhead to a disc front brake. He put a cover over the disc. Looks original

after a little more thought I decided to go with the front brake I posted earlier......tough to balance on a hill stop with a jockey shift and NO front brake
