I contributed steel guitar parts to 3 of Mimi's new song coming out in June on his CD that is to be named All That Glitters. We're now co-writing and talking about a Beatles cover CD. This is too much fun.


Here's another tune that is evolving...... this is my son and I collaborating and Mimi wants to do the lyrics and vocals when we get it all fleshed out.

Prudence does have a unique sound and you have to decide whether you are going to replicate it or completely depart from the original. This is the nature of doing covers. I got the guitars and bass tracks down initially and that is what determined the course on this one. I'm still trying to get the thing all into place so it sounds right. Lots of time listening and adjusting things.

Tahitian Treat was me reacting to the high energy conclusion of one of son's band's songs called Cotton Confetti Cake. I came up with the main melody, bridge and turnaround. I shared it with Rory and Mimi and they both liked it. I told Mimi what I was feeling when I wrote it and so he being the very empathetic type felt it too. He wrote the lyrics based on that, which have yet to be sung to it. My son plays the vibes, piano, synthesizer, mandolin and banjo. I did the tremolo guitar, lead guitar, steel guitar, bass and drums.

I really would like to hear the lyrics when y'all get them recorded. That musics makes me want to kick back on a beach somewhere with something long, tall and cool in my hand.

We'll be working on Tahitian Treat over the next month or so. It has to be lengthened and tweaked.

On Dear Prudence, I just spent the last 5 hours mixing it and adjusting things. I think it's a whole lot better sounding as it stands right now.

hey! I just fixed a big timing boo-boo at about 3:16-ish. I eased the harmony fills at around 1:26 and also the hand claps are more apparent now too.
