Air cleaner mounts....
Mine have snapped in the throttle body three times!
I have the Zippers Hi Flow Air Cleaner. After the second mount snapped and I called them, they sent me stainless studs. Snapped on of those yesterday or today (noticed it this morning on my way to work). Has anyone else experienced a similar problem? Not sure if it's the mounts or if the engine vibration is concentrated in that one spot causing the problem. The second one broke on the return trip from our "43" run. Thought I was going to lose the whole air cleaner.

Not sure of your setup and don't know how visible the studs are. Anytime I need a strong bolt/stud I go to one of our mega Ace hardware stores (I swear this place sells almost everything) and pick up some of the best hardened bolts/studs they carry. This usually solves weak points. Take your old one in for thread match and size.
The one I go to even carries chrome nuts/bolts/studs etc... I have had to modify the length on certain items but all else is good. Hope that helps... |
