Prayers from PA - I have a 16 year old biological daughter who lives with her mom and is into drinking and drugs. QUite the challenge for both of us. We ground her, take the car and drivers liscense etc, but her attitude is that there's nothing wrong with it. Can't control that. Just have to reinforce thatthere are consequences to that behavior.

I have two girlfriends I go dancing with a lot that are both recovering alcoholics. . .one became sober when she was 18 and the other much later in life. . .they both live full, happy, productive lives. My thoughts and prayers are with your daughter and with you as y'all overcome this obstacle. Hugs!

communication and trust are so important at this stage, its almost like a new beginning. try your best to keep the lines open and be alert for any signs of her behavior reverting back. tough love is a difficult course but well worth the results. thankfully she has you guys to help and support her - thoughts ans prayers our way....

Teenage years are very tough ones when everything is normal in there lives. It's all about not giving up on them and show them all the love you have, she needs your direction and love. You are doing the right thing, she will always remember that about you. Hang in there, our prayers for your family are with you. We raised 4 boys and sometimes it was tough, I feel what you are going through. They do grow up with your help and turn into great adults.

Just a quick update. Her father has all ready tried to undo things. My daughter has handled it better than I could have imagined. She has kept us informed, and has expressed her conviction to stay straight. Her wish is to leave him alone. She still loves him, because he is her father, but she has no desire to fall into the same pattern with him..
