TTS Newb Help
I've a sneaking suspicion that the dealer may have re-flashed the scoot when I had it in just before the warranty was up.
Is there any easy way, using the TTS, to tell if there's a "factory" map loaded or the one that Smart Dave tuned to? TIA for the help.

I have been told you cannot pull down the loaded Map from the ECM. At least using the SERT. I dont believe I have ever seen it when I do work with it, But I am a Newby to this as well

Didn't Smart Dave keep a copy of your map? Have him email to you as an attachment and upload it to your bike, won't hurt anything if the correct map is still there and you upload over it, but you know for sure which map your running this way. By the way the new Power Vision tuner let's you download and edit whatever map is in the ECM.

Bike is better. I think my spidey senses were correct though I still have some decel/shift popping. Not horrible, but enough to be annoying.

No, you can't look at what was loaded or what was saved. When you save it off, it's stored in an encrypted file. Probably has something to do with legal, copyright, or some obscure agreement TTS has with the factory. I'm sure Dave can tweak the map a little to get rid of the pooping if you can narrow it down to a particular rpm range.

There are two types of files that the Mastertune uses; .MTE and .MTx. Your stock program, and any program you use the "save" function with is stored as an .MTE. These files completely overwrite the ECM, and are not editable. The .MTx files (either 6, 7, or 8) are the tunes. These are 100% editable, and it's what you're running if Dave's tune is still in place. When you edit a tune and save it, you're creating a new .MTx file.
The Powervision, aside from lacking a substantial amount of functionality as compared to the Mastertune, is unable to edit or read Mastertune files. According to Jamie at Fuel Moto, the Powervision uses two distinct file types as well, with the same limitations as the Mastertune. I suppose this may have changed in the 6 months or so since I spoke with him about it. As far as editing a stock map, why would that ever be necessary? You're going to be better off with a base calibration from your tuner's library. If you're concerned about a dealer seeing that the ECM has been re-flashed, simply reload the stock tune before you take it in, or (in the case of the Mastertune) simply rename your calibration to whatever your stock map was.
