Had breakfast at my favorite cafe this morning. A regular, but distanced,
sit down meal. It felt like life is getting almost normal again.

How long should we "shelter in place" ?

Will the virus get tired of hunting down victims and go away?

Or will it just remain "dormant" until the next victims venture out?


We have now seen and are aware of our shortages in medical supply stockpiles in PPE and ventilator type things, how under cleaned (sanitized) the nursing home type places are and how a pandemic type virus can run through them like wind fanned wildfires.


As for the shelf shortages in the stores, we no longer have a small warehouse to keep goods in the back of large grocery type stores as the stocking model has shifted to "On Time" stocking decades ago.

It doesn't mean I am no longer wary of venturing out myself, but...

Living in a "hot zone", while cabin fever is a royal PITA, I'm in no hurry to test the theory of all the "It's all an overblown hoax" folks and begin spending a bunch of 'warm, cozy close time' with the masses.

Social distancing is easy to keep while on the scooter.

Got a much needed haircut today. Tucson is now is stage 2 of the federal guidelines. Still, most folks are still taking precautions.
I do think there might be some truth to the question, do sun rays and hot weather play a part in curtailing the virus?

There will be a spike regardless. Those who are susceptible and isolated will always be susceptible after isolation. The spike will occur, might as well get out there and let nature takes its course.

Georgia has not been doing a particularly good job of handling this. Doesn't seem like a huge ask to just put on a mask and stay away from people when out in public but somehow the general masses think this is some kind of draconian sky lizard overlord conspiracy.


I'm rather fortunate that I can work from home with my job and I've been loving the lack of 3 hours a day in the car commuting to the office.

The college is calling back full time people on Wednesday. Don't imagine we'll reopen the museums before June 1, though. Too much to do to get them ready for visitors. All upholstered furniture and toys from the kids' area have to come out, along with any hands-on exhibits that can't be easily cleaned a dozen times a day. Keeping the place open while meeting stringent sanitation standards set by the very, very cautious director is going to be a challenge.

This exactly. I set my office up in the RV out in the driveway. My commute is about 60 feet. I have heat, air conditioning, coffee maker, bathroom, large windows with view of the yard, and NO DISTRACTIONS..

Alameda Co. finally hit stage 2 here. I don't have a clue what that means.
