A true Doof food, considered by some (me included) to be Food Of the Gods.





Basic SOS


Ingredients:

1lb ground beef
¼ cup flour
2 cups milk
3-4 drops Tabasco
Salt and pepper to taste
white bread, toasted



Instructions:

1. Brown and chop ground beef. Remove ground beef with slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel.
2. Sprinkle flour into the fat remaining in the pan to make a roux.
3. Cook for a few minutes over low heat.
4. Add milk a little at a time while stirring.
5. Add Tabasco.
6. Cook until think and bubbling.
7. Add ground beef, and salt and pepper to taste.
8. Serve over toasted white bread "shingles"�.

Man I love that sh!t.My dad used to make it when I was a kid.He served it up with some fried eggs and toast on Sunday mornings.Good memories.

Mine too. He refused to eat Spam--said he got enough of it in Korea--but he'd do SoS like there was no tomorrow. I still get it in the chow hall when I eat breakfast there.

Yep, that is the original Fort Benning breakfast, SOS, Eggs, Grits. How I miss the 3 basic food groups....
