Was speaking at our local gun rights dinner last night.

She shoots a Beretta DT 11.
Practices from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily.
Shoots so much she has to water cool the barrel.

Winchester is her sponsor delivers pallets of shells to her home.

Now coming next year CA restrictions to ammo purchasing, background checks, no mail order of ammo without going through FFL first and such other restrictions may cause her to have to move out of state.


(Of note on ammo purchase laws in state, as residents it makes it illegal to purchase out of state and transport back over state lines, this is all to keep criminals from getting their hands on ammo. Right!... Ha, ha, ha...)

But, OMG, 10 rounds or more of ammo at hand in your home, are you planing a uprising or mass shooting in a gun free zone???

If someone would deliver a pallet or two of ammo to my house, I'd practice more often.

I guess if you medal in the last four Olympics they just may.

Not to mention the $9,000 shotgun...


But when I talk to people about guns in the $3K - $10K price range and their eyes roll back into their head, I always mention to them it would be nice if they checked the price of a basic Holland & Holland shotgun to bring things into perspective...

I get ansty when when I get below 2K in cartridges but thats just some weirdness installed by my father in me. I think the old boy was one of the original preppers after going thru WWII and bombed out post war Europe....

Alas, without pallets of free ammo, I will never be able to practice enough to even think about local contests, never mind the Olympics.

I think they just give out random free pallets of ammo to anybody who asks and hope to see results at some point. Having to show ability to attract a sponsor is just so... Neanderthal . I think they are including 2 participation trophies per flat with AA now.

The original comment should be interpreted as, "it would take pallets of ammunition for me to improve to a marginally acceptable level of competition" and not "Kin Rhode only shoots well because she gets plenty of free ammunition."
