I think that MAY be the best idea. I would hate to ride in rain the whole way. It really is kind of a crap shoot. I really don't want test hurricane season. Been thinking about the Key West thing for a few years now.

When we headed for Florida in August, the closer we got the worse the weather. We ended up in Bristol, TN heading north to avoid the weather. We ended up hitting every south eastern state except................
Yep. You guessed it. We never got Florida that trip.

Just my personal opinion....but Key West is well overrated.
It's small, crowded, usually expensive, hot as hell, and you really can't get from one point to another in any reasonable amount of time. I go there once or twice a year for work....and I usually take the bike..the best part of the trip is leaving. But then again, that's just my opinion. I may have been there too many times.

I've been to Key West but once. It happened to have been Freak Week which I had no knowledge of. It was..... Interesting...but unfortunate, I thought.
