Dj, change it...I'm sure that wee little battery isn't build as well as the OEM Caddy's.

I'm defiantly changing it out. It was cranking hard on hot restarts late last summer. It's time.

The stock HD AGM battery is a good battery, mine was still good at 6 years when I went to the Odessey AGM deep cycle with a 15 year design life.

Mine was a full five years old in the Ultra and it seemed to be telling me it was time for a new one. I tested it at work with the scanner and tested the charging system as well. It tested good. The next day at work when I was leaving to go home, it wouldn't start.

As has been mentioned earlier, listen to it when it speaks to you.

Though the original HD battery lasted right at nine (9) years, the 180 dollar HD new one has now crapped at 23 months. Nope. Twelve month warranty.
Considering the Odyssey AGM and checking that link also. Definitely NOT givin' Harley another 180.
Odyssey has 3 year full warranty, no pro rata crappola. The Deka has 1yr. Still, the price...

EDIT: The local dealer for Odyssey said three years on the phone but the websites all seem to agree on two years~

Deka is the company that makes the HD battery. It's also the one that the plant is 45 min. from me. Paid $55 for my "blemish" (just a marr on the side of the case).

That would be great to get that deal down here! Even at 99 bux vs. about 185 for the Odyssey, the Deka sounds really good.
They're both AGM but the Odyssey claims to be "drycell"...which they claim is all awesome-like.
Deka is sounding much much better.

I run the Oddessy AGM, Been in about 3 years and I cant kill it. I have 2-100 watt Piaa 510's for spots, a 100/80 Piaa headlamp, heated seat, heated grips, 2- 35 w daytime runners on the crash bar, accessory lighting on the rear and front as well as numerous other gadgets mounted in the cockpit. Had it all running at the same time and it just kept going and going. Had the stereo cranking on accy for 10 hrs once at a campground and it fired right up. Has a metal case, dry cell, cant kill it. I'm sold.
