Train wreck
I'm sure many of you have heard in the news about the bad train derailment that took place in WA. a short while ago.
A tragic event that took lives and caused the main freeway to be shut down for days. It was a first time passenger run and the train was rated for 80 MPH. BUT [ big but ] there is a curve near Tacoma that is rated for 30 MPH. The train entered this curve at 78 MPH, and promptly flew off the track. Now, I don't care what you're driving, a semi, car, motorcycle, bus, train, etc. If you see a sharp almost 80 degree curve coming up, even though your vehicle is rated for a much higher speed, what would most people do? Right...slow the hell down !!! Anyway the conductor didn't put on the brakes and now he is suing the railroad for unsafe working conditions. Everyone is a victim nowadays.

Participation award?
The people who are representing him need to be sued for supporting his lack of common sense. He had one job, to run the train... gahh! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

^^ THIS ^^
If the corner was marked, how could the Engineer NOT be blamed for causing the accident? Interested in how this shakes out. Inaugural run, wouldn't you think they would take extra precautions?

That's what happens when you give participation trophies. Even the guy who is at fault blames someone else.

A Compton woman who was struck by a car on Interstate 5 last year during a political protest that spilled onto the freeway is suing University of California San Diego, among others, alleging failure to contain the demonstration and prevent a dangerous situation.
Maria Ana Carrola Flores, 19, filed the lawsuit this month in San Diego County Superior Court against defendants including the university, the driver of the car that struck her, the state and the City of San Diego. The lawsuit’s allegations include negligence and a dangerous condition on public property. http://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/...129-story.html

Run around in the roadway like a headless chicken, in a moving / active traffic "hot lane", and you're sure to win the stupidhead of the day chrome bumper award.

When I grew up in CA, I recall the Interstate ramps clearly stated "No pedestrians, equestrians or bicycles"..

I haven’t read the report on this but if it’s the conductor that filed suit I wouldn’t blame him. He wasn’t driving the train. The engineer was. He was also the one who called in the emergency on the radio. I’m not big on law suites but the conductor wasn’t at fault.

The way words are misused out of context in news stories anymore.
I could understand them using the word conductor in place of engineer/ train driver. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

Here is the story and latest news. The conductor was in the lead engine with the engineer. I understand the engineer was the man in charge.
What warnings or comments the conductor may have said to him hasn't been made public. Along with under what circumstances can a subordinate take action if he feels he and the train are under control of a reckless man. http://komonews.com/news/local/condu...ain-crash-sues

OK then...
A train doing almost 80 MPH into a 30 MPH corner is not a good time for, hold my beer and watch this!
