Well, I feel like I accomplished something today
Started tearing the spewer of oil yesterday. Didn't get far before I had to run out and get some oil dry and then have the family beg me to take them to see Harry Potter. Started back in today and made some progress. I think I'm to the point of having to obtain a few tools before proceeding further.
Oil running out just from being upright on the jack.  Oil drips from the filter...mind you, I have run the bike once since Septembers Cheesapalooza. And that was a total of about 5 miles to the dealership and back.  Front pipe removed, any bets on it ever running again?  Cam chest open. Apparently, there is oil in there.  More than just a few drops of oil, too.  What have I done?  Wonder what the scrap price on one of these is?  What izzit?  Well, I'm done for today. I think at this point, I need to get the cam locking thingy and then the oil pump alignment thingy's. How many times can you reuse the gaskets? Do you think I could get replacement price if there was a fire?

And don't forget to pick the old exhaust gasket out before you wedge a new one in there.

Is the exhaust gasket like a split ring? If so, it came off on the pipe when I pulled it. I'll still check to be sure all old gastet material is removed prior to applying new gaskets.

I have no problem buying new gaskets. Glad someone here mentioned to check though. I would have missed it.
