The Fireplace/modern stuff
Here is the "before" shot. We never burned wood after moving in.
I love the smell of burning wood. I don't  have time to cut, stackor carry in the house. It's too labor intensive.  So. A propane insert is just the ticket. Flip a switch,  fires up.No fuss, no muss. Had this done Dec. 13th. Flag on mantle is my Father. Walter Sr. R. I. P. Dad He was an ensign in WW II, merchant marine.
