Anyone from East Texas/Dallas area going to ES
I'm probably going to ride up and spend two nights and ride back. Don't necessarily want to ride alone BOTH ways...
I know the dallas folks would probably take a different route most of the way.

Just talked to Ricky (Mr Surly) he has no firm plans, but generally rides up the Saturday before, which would be the 16th. I pretty flexible myself.

I'm heading up on Sunday and back on Thursday. I'm planning to do 75-69-40-49-412-45-23 to get there. Should be about a 7 hour ride allowing for lunch and gassing up along the way. I'll be leaving from Plano.

Google tells me: 259/59-112-271-540-49-412-45-12-23. About 6 hours.

Looks like you are far enough east that our routes wouldn’t overlap until we are almost there.

I should finish the post my phone cut short above.
I was thinking of breaking it up and taking the long way over 2 days. Head out Saturday, through Broken Bow up to Talihina somewhere. Sunday ride the Talimena byway over into Arkansas and take mostly back roads up to Eureka. Haven't decided yet. I think it depends a lot on the weather

I'd be going through Broken Bow. Hadn't planned on an overnight, but that could be doable.

Kind of waiting to hear from Ricky. Are both of you planning on an overnight trip?

Ricky can typically get there in the same day. Even if taking the Talimena Scenic Byway.

Cowboy and I were discussing our route this morning. Looks like we are going to leave EARLY Saturday morning, the 16th, and shoot straight up 35 to 75 with a goal of Atoka, Oklahoma. That's 550 miles the first day. From Atoka we'll do the Talimena. There's really not many ways to get from here to there that don't involve 35.
