I snapped two bolts on my handlebar risers last night...
Was trying to adjust my bars on the Cross Bones for a longer reach, and when I was tightening the bolts down, two of them snapped.

Think I may need to invest in a torque wrench...

My Dad bought me my first one when I twisted off the head bolts on my Kowalski 175 in 1972.

We were at the dealer the other day and Rick decided his bars were too low so he grabbed the grips and muscled them up to a new position...

The HD techs suggested an alternative method of loosening the bolts, then adjusting...

Rick just smiled... I don't think they picked up on it...

He was just trying to use the "tighten it until it snaps off, then back it off a quarter turn" method.
Most people find the flaw in that method after the first bolt, but some need to be shown a second time.
Nothing wrong with that.
Especially when you're the size of a townhouse.
