mornen...its Friday...packing up the kitchen and dining room...getting ready for Monday...gutting the kitchen and dining room, ripping out two walls and raising the ceiling...three weeks of mess then a whole new look to the old home abode.

I have done everything else so far....laid wood floors in the spare bedroom and in the hall...built two closets with traditional doors in the spare bedroom...added crown, base board, quarter round, door and window molding and fixed (re-Spackled)previous owners ceiling joints, painted and made a built in desk between the two new closets in the spare bedroom...new base board and quarter round molding in the hall, along with one complete new wall(old wall was not hung well and had a slight bulge in the middle)...painted the stair well walls...repaired walls in the living room, tripple primed one wall...(it was a terracotta color and did not cover easily)painted with one wall an accent color...put in new sliding 8 foot sliding door(that I had done)where I made some ornate trim with cornice like header...
The kitchen redo I am leaving to the professionals...at present it is a galley kitchen, around an 8 foot long by 6 foot wide with a window looking into the dining room. The ceiling is around 7 foot tall, they used it to box in duct work to the dining room. Only 1 out let and really set up very poorly in relation to the space. So I am having the two walls knocked out...ceiling raised around a foot..new cabinets..4 outlets put in...move sink to corner...granite counter tops...additional lighting (3 cans in ceiling and two drops over new island and porcelain tiles that look like antique maple(6" x 18" planks)....and the best part new stove, dishwasher and garbage disposal...I love to cook and the new one ... I cant wait... Been busy but I want it all done before summer so I can relax and know its all done.
