K&n Hd-800
Just replaced my SE Air Cleaner with the K&N. How often are you guys cleaning these suckers out? Box says 50,000 under normal use. I ain't buying that.

I talked to my indy about that very thing... he said the 50k is more for big car air filters... he told me every 5k due to the smaller surface area and greater demand per sq. in....

I clean mine as often as it needs it! 43K on mine, discolored, dented, but still running strong...

You can tell when they need cleaning. Like any air filter just look at it and if it's dirty, clean it. I usually could go nearly 10,000 miles before mine needed cleaning. Just check it every time you change your oil and you will be fine.

 Hot Rod's BIKE WORKS has a short article in it, How To Clean Your K&N Filter...  They say every 2500 miles...  ...I had 8600 miles on my SE Filter before I changed it out to the Doherty System, and it still looked pretty clean to me. A lot of it would depend where you ride, type of conditions.
