A bump in the road of life....
I posted this on another much smaller forum, but Mega reminded of the strength of prayer as the numbers increase. I decided he was right and thought I'd post the same thing here.
Some of you already know this, but for those that don't..... Shortly after Thanksgiving I was having some problems with shortness of breath while at a fire call. I didn't really think of it being a heart attack but went to see my family doctor. While there they diagnosed me with an elevated diaphragm which caused the shortness of breath, but they didn't know why. I was scheduled for more tests but in the mean time ended up in the hospital for an unrelated thing. While there they discovered a mass in my chest. I've been through a lot of tests and last week had a biopsy. Late Thursday I got the news that I have a malignant thymic tumor. Honestly I'm not exactly sure what it all means yet, but I have a PET scan scheduled for this Tuesday and an appointment with an oncologist on Thursday. I am truly blessed with a lot of great friends who support me, but most of all I have my two boys (6 & 11). I plan on fighting and beating this. I have too much to live for.
