The 10" Motorola tablet might be delayed from being announced this week but it is going to be an awesome piece of hardware. I think there are some last minute updates to the Android 3.0 OS (honeycomb) that are causing some issues. There are only a handful of phones out there that have 2.3 (gingerbread) so 3.0 is really cutting edge. Google has not really given their express support to the tablets out there with 2.1/2.2 right now since they are saying 3.0 will have tablet specific design elements.

I'm thinking about getting one of the new tablets myself once the dust clears after CES. One of my daughters might inherit a lightly used Dell laptop

It's a pretty hot unit the asus looks pretty good too not to many details out about it, I think my brother is speaking at ces again so maybe he can get me some info

Steve just gave the app world a platform to play with. Kinda like my company sells crap really just to get you to buy service for years....and years...and years.....and years.
Funny how the other companies keep trying to make a better piece of hardware. He doesn't care. How other companies can redirect the app world to their phone I have no idea. I gotta believe Google is working on something though. They have a phone out. Not sure if it's any good or not though.

I'm gonna get me a mini laptop. I'm leanin' toward the Samsung N150 netbook, which weighs under three pounds. I'm gonna bump up the RAM to 2 GB. It already has a 250 gig hard drive. I should be able to get it for under $350 shipped to my house.

I'll carry the mini with me when I motor around the country on my bagger.

I'm gonna install skype, so I can call home for free via the internet, using the free wifi connection that most motels offer to their guests. The Samsung, like most minis, has a built in video camera.

I'll set up my e-mail accounts on it too. And my ftp stuff so I can upload photos to my various photo hosts, or directly to my server.

I use maps when I travel, so I have no need for gps. And I can always review the next days route via the interweb. I use google maps for that...

And I'll carry my crappy company issued Motorola cell phone, with PTT, just in case.

I refuse to buy a smart phone.

Due to the very stringent parameters that the Mac developers have to adhere to for their apps to actually be published, I would see the other 92% of the world that doesn't swing from Jobs nutsack to embrace the more open source nature of the Android platform.
