...of course, the wife stumbling around the bed, reaching out & grabbing my leg to steady herself didn't help matters much.

Expect her to have more of these "accidents" until she feels "even" for you scaring her like that.

Sorry I didn't get to this until now, but I was in clawfoot tub/plumbing hell this weekend w/ Gunfixer's help. Knew you were in good hands, though.
