Sturgis doesn't care

I have never been to Sturgis..yet. Still on the bucket list though.

Have been during the big show time, have stayed in Spearfish motels about 20-30 miles West of Sturgis, or tented in and close around Sturgis, twice in Deadwood an air B&B and at a friend of a friends house.

One year I had to plan a ride for friend to Rushmore and we spent the night at the Best Western in Sturgis the week before the rally started, that was kind of interesting because some vendors already setting up and you pretty much have the entire town to wander around in without the hordes of bikers.

Been there, done that, have absolutely no remaining desire to go anywhere near the Black Hills during the summer months, let alone during Sturgis. Sharing a very limited number of roads with half a million bikes and another half a million cars is not a good situation for an introvert. I first went in 1995 when the population crush was noticeable but not too overwhelming. Met Minnesota Horse Mom and her family up there for a pre-week two-day ride maybe ten years ago. I'm glad we went, but given a bike and a week's vacation, I'd rather head somewhere everyone else is not.

I was there one other time during bike week, but that was by accident.

Been there twice, both times, round trip, from Philadelphia. Last time was last year on my Victory Cross Country. First time was on my Softail. That's the reason I have my Cross Country

Took my grandson swimming at Thermop this weekend- lots of bikes on the road.
